Isbae U Reveals Inspiration Behind Curiosity Made Me Ask
Content creator Isbae U has revealed that his popular interview series was inspired by his desire to move beyond skit-making and create a distinct entertainment format.
Content creator Adebayo Ridwan Abidemi, popularly known as Isbae U, has revealed that his popular interview series, Curiosity Made Me Ask, was inspired by his desire to create something different from conventional skit-making.
Isbae U disclosed this during an interview with media personality Morayo Afolabi-Brown on The Morayo Show, shared on YouTube on Wednesday.
He said he had experimented with different forms of entertainment, including singing, rapping and acting, while trying to discover his niche.
According to him, he eventually decided he did not want to remain within the skit-making space and began searching for a concept that would distinguish him from others in the industry.
Isbae U said he later drew inspiration from American comedian Zach Galifianakis’ interview series, Between Two Ferns, after watching the programme and recognising its potential for a different style of celebrity interviews.
He said the concept behind Curiosity Made Me Ask was to reveal sides of celebrities that audiences might not ordinarily see through conventional interviews.
The content creator has since interviewed several prominent personalities, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, actor Pete Edochie and entertainer Charly Boy.
He admitted that he sometimes becomes nervous when interviewing older and more established personalities but said they had generally welcomed him and encouraged him to remain himself.
Isbae U also disclosed that he continues to work on other creative projects behind the scenes, including writing stories for other content creators.
He said he intends to continue exploring different forms of content rather than limiting himself to the interview series.
