Insecurity: Sanwo-Olu Rallies Nigerians To Support Tinubu, Security Agencies
Sanwo-Olu urged Nigerians to support Tinubu and security agencies, calling for unity, vigilance, intelligence sharing, and national solidarity to defeat terrorism and restore peace across affected communities nationwide.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called on Nigerians to remain united and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and security agencies in confronting terrorism and other security threats across the country.
In a statement personally signed and released on Saturday, the governor said recent security incidents in parts of the country were unfortunate but should not weaken national resolve or confidence in the ability of the state to restore peace.
Sanwo-Olu said Nigeria has repeatedly faced national challenges in the past and always emerged stronger through unity, resilience, and collective determination.
He stressed that the current insecurity situation requires citizens to stand firmly behind the Federal Government and security agencies, noting that criminal elements do not consider political, ethnic, or religious differences when attacking communities.
According to him, national response to insecurity must therefore rise above partisan politics and divisive rhetoric.
“We are Nigerians. Our will is strong and our spirit is unbreakable,” he said, urging citizens to reinforce national unity in support of ongoing security operations.
The governor also expressed sympathy for victims of recent attacks across the country, describing every loss of life as a tragedy that must be collectively mourned.
He specifically called for prayers and support for teachers and students abducted in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State, noting that affected families and communities require both emotional and institutional support.
Sanwo-Olu further urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and assist security agencies with timely and credible information that can help prevent and respond to attacks.
He emphasized that government alone cannot win the fight against insecurity without active citizen participation, especially at the community level.
The governor also reaffirmed confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and Nigeria’s security and intelligence architecture, expressing optimism that ongoing efforts to strengthen operations and dismantle criminal networks will yield positive results.
He commended members of the armed forces and security agencies for their sacrifices, adding that their commitment remains essential to safeguarding the country.
Sanwo-Olu concluded that unity, vigilance, and cooperation remain critical tools for overcoming Nigeria’s current security challenges.
