INEC Opens Portal for 2027 Election Ad Hoc Staff Recruitment
INEC has opened its online portal for the recruitment of ad hoc personnel for the 2027 general elections, with applications scheduled to close on November 18.
The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has activated its online portal for the recruitment of ad hoc staff for the 2027 general elections.
The commission said the INECPRES portal was activated on September 18 and would remain open until midnight on November 18, 2026.
INEC said the recruitment was part of preparations for the elections scheduled for January 16, 2027, for the Presidential and National Assembly polls, and February 6, 2027, for Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections.
The commission is expected to deploy about 1.4 million ad hoc personnel across more than 176,000 polling units nationwide for the elections.
The recruitment covers several categories, including Supervisory Presiding Officers, Presiding Officers, Assistant Presiding Officers, Registration Area Centre Managers and Registration Area Technical Support personnel.
Eligible applicants include serving NYSC members, former corps members who meet the specified conditions, students of Federal and State tertiary institutions, eligible government employees and certain INEC and ICT personnel.
INEC said applicants must meet the specific requirements for their preferred positions and must not be members of political parties or have demonstrated support for any candidate or party. Applicants are also required to reside in the state selected, except for those applying for the RATECH category.
The commission urged interested applicants to use only its official recruitment channels and to review the eligibility requirements before submitting their applications.
INEC said the online application could be accessed through its official website and the INECPRES platform.
The commission had earlier warned Nigerians against fraudulent recruitment websites, stressing that applicants should rely on verified INEC platforms for election-related information.
The recruitment exercise is expected to provide the temporary workforce required to support the conduct and administration of the 2027 general elections across the country.
