Ignore Fake Conference Advertisement, Army College Tells Nigerians

The Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM), Ojo, Lagos, has warned Nigerians to disregard an online advertisement promoting a purported international research conference allegedly scheduled to hold at the institution.

The college said the advertisement for the purported “Highstone Global University USA International Research Conference” was false and fraudulent, stressing that it had no connection with the programme.

In a statement dated September 22, 2026, NACOLM’s Public Relations Officer, Major Innocent Audu, said the institution had neither authorised nor endorsed the conference.

The college said it had no affiliation, partnership or involvement with the purported programme and that no such conference had been approved to take place at its premises.

NACOLM urged members of the public to disregard the advertisement and avoid making payments or providing personal information in connection with the programme.

The warning followed the circulation of the online advertisement, which allegedly presented the Army College as the venue for the purported international conference.

The institution cautioned Nigerians to exercise vigilance when responding to online advertisements involving its name, facilities or official activities.

It further stated that legitimate programmes or events involving the college would only be communicated through its recognised official channels and those of the Nigerian Army.

The college also encouraged members of the public to report suspicious solicitations linked to the purported conference to the appropriate authorities.

NACOLM said the clarification was necessary to protect the integrity of its name and facilities and to prevent members of the public from falling victim to fraudulent activities.

The development highlights growing concerns over the misuse of the names of government institutions and public facilities in online advertisements designed to solicit payments or personal information.

The college therefore advised Nigerians to verify the authenticity of any programme purportedly associated with NACOLM through its official communication channels before taking any action.
