Fury’s Uncle Predicts Joshua Knockout

Peter Fury, uncle and former trainer of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, has warned that Anthony Joshua could knock out his nephew if the long-awaited British heavyweight clash goes ahead.

Speaking on the Fight Your Corner podcast, Peter said he could see two possible outcomes when the two former champions eventually meet.

According to him, Tyson could use his boxing ability to outpoint Joshua, or Joshua could find the target and secure the first stoppage defeat of Tyson’s professional career.

Peter said the outcome would ultimately depend on the tactics and game plans adopted by both fighters.

“I think it all comes down to what game plans they are going to do,” he said.

The proposed Fury-Joshua showdown has been the subject of prolonged negotiations, with both fighters having expressed interest in facing each other.

The talks gained momentum after Tyson Fury and Joshua recorded victories in their respective comeback fights in July.

Fury defeated Mariusz Wach, while Joshua stopped Kristian Prenga in their respective bouts.

However, negotiations reportedly stalled over the proposed venue for the contest.

Organisers had considered staging the all-British heavyweight encounter in New York, while Joshua had been linked to a contractual commitment to fight in the United Kingdom.

Recent reports have suggested that discussions have resumed, with Cardiff in Wales emerging as a possible destination for the fight in December.

Peter Fury said he believed the fight had come late in both men’s careers but acknowledged the financial significance of the proposed contest.

He also reflected on Tyson’s best performances, pointing to his victory over Wladimir Klitschko as an example of the level he believes his nephew once reached.

Tyson Fury, a former WBC heavyweight champion, retired from boxing earlier this year before announcing plans for another return to the ring.

Joshua, meanwhile, is also seeking to rebuild his career following a series of setbacks and remains one of the division’s biggest commercial names.
