Fury Calls Joshua ‘Coward’ As Long-Awaited Fight Hangs In Balance

Tyson Fury has branded Anthony Joshua a “coward” as negotiations for their long-awaited heavyweight showdown remain unresolved, with the proposed November 20 date and venue yet to be confirmed.

Fury launched his latest attack on Joshua in a social media video, expressing frustration that the two former world champions have still not finalised arrangements for their highly anticipated all-British contest.

The former WBC heavyweight champion claimed he had agreed to fight at every location proposed during negotiations, including England, Ireland, Las Vegas and New York.

Fury said he believed Joshua did not genuinely want the fight and accused him of delaying the agreement. He challenged his fellow Briton to finally commit to the contest, insisting that both fighters were approaching the later stages of their careers.

The proposed fight is widely expected to take place on November 20, with Madison Square Garden in New York emerging as the leading venue.

However, Joshua’s camp has preferred Wembley Stadium in London. The disagreement over location has become one of the major obstacles to finalising the bout.

The event is being financed by Saudi-backed promoters, who reportedly favour New York because of the commercial opportunities associated with a larger American audience and a global Netflix broadcast.

Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, has maintained that Fury has already agreed to the fight and is waiting for Joshua’s side to complete the arrangements.

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has indicated that discussions remain focused on financial terms and location, while maintaining that his fighter wants the blockbuster bout.

The rivalry between Fury and Joshua has lasted more than a decade, but the pair have never met professionally despite several rounds of negotiations.

Joshua returned to action in July, stopping Kristian Prenga in the second round, although he was twice knocked down in the opening round.

Fury, meanwhile, defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov earlier this year as he continued his comeback.

With negotiations still unresolved, the proposed November showdown remains uncertain. Fury has warned that he is unwilling to wait indefinitely, increasing pressure on both camps to settle their differences and finally deliver one of boxing’s most anticipated heavyweight fights.
