Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has promised to mobilise no fewer than three million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Fubara made the pledge on Saturday at the presidential campaign rally organised by the Rainbow Coalition at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.

The governor said the mobilisation would be coordinated under the leadership of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who leads the coalition's activities in Rivers State.

He assured Tinubu that political leaders and supporters in the state would work together to secure his re-election, declaring that the target was to deliver at least three million votes.

Fubara also reaffirmed the coalition's commitment to supporting candidates from both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), despite their different party affiliations.

He said the coalition had agreed on a common list of candidates across the parties and assured the President that its candidates would emerge victorious in the state during the January 2027 elections.

The Rainbow Coalition is a cross-party political alliance led by Wike to mobilise support for Tinubu's re-election while backing selected candidates from different parties for governorship, National Assembly and state assembly positions.

The arrangement has generated disagreements within the APC, as some party leaders favour supporting the party's candidates across all elective positions, while the coalition allows members to support candidates from other political platforms.

Fubara's declaration follows his reconciliation with Wike after a prolonged political dispute that divided the Rivers State political structure and triggered a crisis in the State House of Assembly.

The governor has since publicly recognised Wike's leadership of the coalition and urged his supporters to work with the political group ahead of the 2027 elections.

The rally formed part of Tinubu's political engagements in the South-South region ahead of the next general elections.
