Fire Breaks Out at Zamfara Governor’s Residence in Gusau

A fire outbreak occurred at the residence of Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal in Gusau, the state capital, on Wednesday evening.

The incident occurred at about 7:20 p.m., prompting the immediate deployment of firefighters to the governor’s residence.

The Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Fire Service Board, Bello Sani Gusau, monitored the firefighting operation at the residence.

Speaking to journalists, Sani confirmed that an inferno had occurred at the governor’s residence and said firefighters were working to contain it.

An eyewitness, identified as Sadiq, said the fire affected a security room within the residence.

He said firefighters were working to prevent the flames from spreading to other sections of the building.

There was no immediate report of casualties from the incident.

The cause of the fire had not been established as of the time of reporting, while firefighting efforts continued at the residence.

Authorities are expected to assess the extent of the damage and determine the circumstances surrounding the outbreak.
