EPL: ‘We Can Beat Arsenal’ – Liverpool Coach Iraola Confident Ahead of Anfield Clash

Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to defeat Premier League champions Arsenal ahead of their high-profile encounter at Anfield on Sunday.

Iraola said Liverpool would approach the match with confidence in their players and the support expected from home fans, while acknowledging the quality and organisation of Mikel Arteta’s side.

“We know Arsenal and how good they are. They have very good players, working a lot in synchronicity, and we have to be ready for that challenge,” he said.

“It’s going to be a demanding game, but we also trust our players, trust ourselves and the good atmosphere we will for sure have on Sunday. I hope we will be at a level to win this game.”

Liverpool head into the encounter on a five-match winning run across all competitions, a sequence that has raised expectations among supporters about the club’s prospects this season.

However, Iraola played down suggestions that his team should already be considered serious title contenders, saying it was too early to focus on the league standings.

“It is still October. We have to take one game at a time,” he said, adding that the team still had areas to improve.

The Liverpool coach also noted that only two of the five consecutive victories had come in the Premier League, stressing that his side needed more league wins to recover lost ground.

Arsenal arrive at Anfield as reigning champions and joint-leaders of the table alongside Manchester City. They moved to the top with a 2-0 victory over Everton before suffering a League Cup exit to fourth-tier Fleetwood Town following a penalty shootout.

A win for Liverpool would reduce the gap between the sides to three points and strengthen the hosts’ position in the title conversation.

The fixture also brings Iraola face to face with Arteta, whom he has known since their younger playing days.

Sunday’s match is scheduled to kick off at 4:30 p.m. GMT at Anfield, with both sides seeking an important result as the Premier League campaign progresses.
