EPL: Spurs Agree £75m Deal to Sign Savinho from Manchester City
Tottenham agree £75m deal with Manchester City for Brazilian winger Savinho, with £10m available in potential add-ons.
Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Brazilian winger Savinho for £75m, with a further £10m potentially payable in add-ons.
The 22-year-old is expected to undergo a medical before completing his move to north London, where he is set to sign a long-term contract.
The transfer follows more than a year of interest from Tottenham, who previously attempted to sign Savinho last summer. The Brazilian ultimately remained at Manchester City but struggled for regular playing time during the previous campaign, making only seven Premier League starts.
Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has already overseen significant spending during the summer transfer window as the club looks to strengthen its squad.
The London club have invested £185m on midfielders Mateus Fernandes from West Ham and Sandro Tonali from Newcastle.
Savinho’s proposed arrival will take Tottenham’s total summer spending beyond £300m. The club, however, have generated around £140m from player sales, including Cristian Romero, Djed Spence and Luka Vuskovic.
The proposed deal represents a major investment in Savinho, who is regarded as one of Brazil’s promising young attacking players.
Tottenham are also continuing to explore further additions before the transfer window closes.
Talks over a potential move for Savinho’s Manchester City teammate Omar Marmoush are reportedly progressing positively.
The Egypt international joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt for £59m in 2025 but dropped down the pecking order last season and could now be available for a transfer.
Spurs also maintain an interest in Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, although their ability to pursue the Netherlands international could depend on how negotiations for Marmoush and Savinho develop.
Tottenham’s aggressive recruitment reflects the club’s ambition to strengthen across several positions ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
Savinho’s move would also give De Zerbi another dynamic attacking option capable of operating from the wing and creating opportunities in the final third.
Tottenham are scheduled to open their Premier League campaign away against Brentford on Saturday at 17:30 BST, while Manchester City will host Bournemouth on Sunday at 14:00 BST.
Savinho’s departure would leave City without one of their attacking options as both clubs prepare for the new season.
