Ekiti NDC Candidate Condemns Attack on ADC Campaign Office
NDC House of Representatives candidate Ayodele David-Adesua has condemned the vandalism of an ADC senatorial campaign office in Ido Ekiti, calling for an impartial investigation.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) House of Representatives candidate for Ikole/Oye Federal Constituency in Ekiti State, Ayodele David-Adesua, has condemned the attack and destruction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) campaign office of Funso Ayeni in Ido Ekiti.
David-Adesua, in a statement issued on Sunday, expressed solidarity with Ayeni, the ADC candidate for Ekiti North Senatorial District, and called on security agencies to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into the incident.
The campaign office, which was inaugurated on Thursday, was reportedly vandalised before Ayeni visited the premises on Saturday and called for law enforcement authorities to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack.
David-Adesua urged political parties, candidates, supporters and youths in Ekiti North to promote peaceful political engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said political campaigns should focus on issues affecting residents, including employment, security, education, agriculture and infrastructure, rather than intimidation or destruction of property.
The NDC candidate also urged politicians to conduct their campaigns with decorum and allow voters to make their choices freely.
He said political parties could have different platforms and candidates without treating one another as enemies, adding that the election should be a contest centred on ideas, policies, character and the capacity to serve.
David-Adesua further appealed for tolerance before, during and after the elections, saying political contests would end while the people and communities of Ekiti North would remain.
He called on the relevant security agencies to identify those responsible for the vandalism and bring them to justice.
