Ebony PDP Candidate Promises Economic Transformation
Ebonyi PDP governorship candidate Ifeanyi Odii has pledged to transform healthcare, education and agriculture, while promising inclusive, issues-based governance if elected in 2027.
The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Ebonyi State, Dr Ifeanyi Odii, has pledged to reposition the healthcare, education and agriculture sectors if elected governor in the 2027 election.
Odii made the pledge on Thursday while addressing party members at a meeting in Abakaliki, where he called for what he described as a new approach to the state’s development.
The candidate promised to run an inclusive administration and said his campaign would focus on issues rather than personal attacks or political hostility.
He urged supporters to avoid violence, intimidation and harassment, stressing that no political ambition was worth the life of any citizen.
Odii also accused the current political leadership of using poverty and hunger as tools of political control, particularly among young people. He called for a collective effort to build a state where youths could access opportunities and live with dignity.
He said his administration would prioritise youth development, education, healthcare, agriculture and economic opportunities, drawing from his development blueprint, “A Promise of Possibility”.
According to him, the plan is to make Ebonyi a model of inclusive development, with a competitive and investment-ready economy supported by infrastructure, quality education, universal healthcare, productive agriculture and thriving businesses.
Odii said his administration would seek to create conditions for economic growth and prosperity across communities, while promoting accountable governance and social justice.
He also urged party members and supporters to remain focused on the campaign and avoid confrontations with opponents as political activities intensify ahead of the February 6, 2027 governorship election.
