Eboboritse Uwejamomere Discusses New Chapter Following Golden Eaglets Appointment
Eboboritse Uwejamomere has expressed gratitude after his appointment by the Nigeria Football Federation as head coach of the Golden Eaglets. He pledged to focus on discovering and developing top young talents to sustain Nigeria’s success, bringing experience from roles with the Super Eagles and youth development in England.
Newly appointed Golden Eaglets head coach, Eboboritse Uwejamomere, has broken his silence after being selected by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to lead the men’s national under-17 football team.
Uwejamomere, who has built an impressive reputation across various coaching and analytical roles, expressed his gratitude and excitement for the opportunity to handle the five-time world champions. He noted that taking charge of the youth setup is a profound responsibility, adding that his primary focus will be on identifying and nurturing the finest young talents across the country to maintain Nigeria’s rich legacy at this level.
The tactician possesses a diverse footballing background, having previously served as a match analyst for the senior men’s national team, the Super Eagles, and the women's national team, the Super Falcons. On the domestic scene, he has contributed significantly as the head of academy at Sporting Lagos, a club that recently secured its return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), alongside a prior managerial stint at Abeokuta-based Stormers FC.
Uwejamomere also brings valuable European experience to the national youth team setup, having worked in academy youth development roles in England with clubs such as Millwall, Gillingham, and Nottingham Forest. His appointment, which received strong backing from key federation officials, marks a fresh chapter for the Golden Eaglets as they prepare for upcoming continental and global qualifiers, with the new manager promising a meticulous approach to squad selection and tactical preparation.
