Dangote Refinery Set for IPO Signing Ceremony in Lagos
Dangote Refinery is set to sign documents for its initial public offering in Lagos, ahead of the planned sale of 4.1 billion shares at ₦525 each.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE is set to hold the signing ceremony for its Initial Public Offering on Monday in Lagos, marking a major step towards opening ownership of the refinery to public investors.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, with the company’s leadership, advisers and other stakeholders expected to participate.
The IPO comprises 4.1 billion ordinary shares priced at ₦525 each, which could raise about ₦2.15 trillion if fully subscribed.
The Securities and Exchange Commission has approved the offer and registered the refinery’s existing 120.13 billion ordinary shares, clearing the way for the completion board meeting and signing ceremony.
The offer is expected to open for subscription on September 14, 2026, according to current IPO disclosures.
The transaction is expected to become Africa’s largest-ever share sale and would give investors an opportunity to acquire a stake in one of the continent’s largest industrial projects.
The refinery, located in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, currently has a full operational capacity of about 650,000 barrels per day, with plans to expand to 1.4 million barrels per day.
The proceeds from the IPO are expected to support the refinery’s expansion and broader growth plans.
