Court Remands KC Luxury, Two Others Over Alleged Cocaine Trafficking
A Federal High Court in Lagos has remanded KC Luxury and two others over alleged trafficking and attempted export of 184.5 kilogrammes of cocaine valued at about ₦39 billion.
A Federal High Court in Lagos has remanded luxury goods dealer and lifestyle influencer Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, and two others over alleged cocaine trafficking, illegal export of narcotics and money laundering.
Michael was arraigned alongside Boniface Freeman Ochoche Sule and Ikechukwu Ekugo Patriarch by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on a 22-count charge involving the alleged trafficking and attempted export of 184.5 kilogrammes of cocaine valued at about ₦39 billion.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to all the charges when they were read to them before Justice Musa Kakaki.
The case relates to an alleged attempt to export the cocaine to the United Kingdom between July 28 and August 1, 2026.
The NDLEA alleged that the defendants conspired with Atandare Oladipupo Oluwarotimi and Latifat Yusuf, who were arrested in London, to export the cocaine through a courier logistics company in Lagos.
According to the charge, the substance was concealed in five consignments bearing different airway bill numbers, with Yemi Ejide listed as the shipper.
The agency also alleged that Michael moved billions of naira through several personal and company accounts and used some of the funds to acquire vehicles and landed properties in an attempt to conceal proceeds allegedly connected to the illicit trade.
The prosecution further accused him of failing to declare his assets to the agency as required by law.
The case followed the seizure of the 184.5kg cocaine consignment on August 3 at a DHL facility within the premises of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company in Ikeja, Lagos.
The NDLEA said Michael was subsequently arrested on August 13 at the departure hall of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while allegedly preparing to travel to Paris, France.
The court ordered that the three defendants be remanded in NDLEA custody and adjourned the case until October 4, 2026, for ruling on their bail applications.
