Chioke Backs Transparency and Discipline as Key to NPFL Growth

Stakeholders in Nigerian football have been urged to prioritise transparency and discipline as key drivers for improving the standards of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Speaking on the state of the league, Ike Chioke said Nigerian football has the potential to compete with top leagues globally, but only if governance and administration are strengthened to ensure fairness and accountability.

He stressed that improved transparency in refereeing, club management, and league organisation would help restore confidence in the domestic game and attract stronger corporate sponsorship.

Chioke also noted that Nigerian football has a large untapped commercial base, adding that better structure and professionalism would encourage more private sector investment across clubs in the league.

He further emphasised that discipline within the system is essential to building a more competitive and commercially viable league capable of sustaining long-term growth.
