Champions League: Osimhen, Lookman, Onyedika Set for Nigerian Clashes
Osimhen, Lookman and Onyedika will face each other as Nigerian stars meet during Champions League league-phase fixtures.
Nigerian stars Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman and Raphael Onyedika are set for intriguing clashes in the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League after their clubs were drawn against one another in Thursday’s league-phase draw in Monaco.
Osimhen’s Galatasaray, Lookman’s Atletico Madrid and Onyedika’s Stuttgart will all meet during the league phase, creating a series of Nigerian head-to-head encounters.
Lookman’s Atletico Madrid will host Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Fenerbahce and Viking, while travelling to Liverpool, PSV Eindhoven, Bodo/Glimt and Onyedika’s Stuttgart.
Osimhen’s Galatasaray will welcome Barcelona, Aston Villa, Feyenoord and Stuttgart to Turkey. They will also travel to face Paris Saint-Germain, Sporting CP, Lille and AEK Athens.
The draw means Osimhen will come up against Onyedika when Galatasaray travel to Stuttgart, while Onyedika will also face Lookman when Atletico Madrid visit Germany.
Osimhen’s fixtures will also see him face Barcelona and PSG, two clubs he has previously been linked with, while Galatasaray’s trip to Lille will mark his return to his former club.
Onyedika’s Stuttgart will also face Inter Milan, Club Brugge, PSV Eindhoven, Lille, Viking and Slovan Bratislava during the league phase.
FC Porto’s Zaidu Sanusi is the fourth Nigerian player involved in the competition, although Porto were not drawn against any of the other Nigerian stars.
Porto will host Manchester City, PSV Eindhoven, Napoli and Slavia Prague, while their away fixtures will be against Liverpool, Real Betis, Feyenoord and LASK.
Elsewhere, Arsenal will host 15-time European champions Real Madrid during the league phase. The Gunners will also travel to Bayern Munich and face Borussia Dortmund, Real Betis, Lille, Napoli, Sabah and Slavia Prague.
Manchester City will host defending champions PSG at the Etihad Stadium and travel to Barcelona, where they will face former City midfielder Rodri.
Aston Villa will also face PSG as the 2026/27 Champions League league phase promises several heavyweight encounters.
For the Nigerian quartet, however, the biggest attraction will be the clashes between Osimhen, Lookman and Onyedika as they battle to help their respective clubs reach the knockout phase.
