Carter Efe, Speed Darlington Set for October 1 Celebrity Boxing Clash
Carter Efe and Speed Darlington will face off in a celebrity boxing bout on October 1 in Lagos as part of the Chaos in the Ring event.
Nigerian content creator Carter Efe and entertainer Speed Darlington are set to settle their rivalry in the boxing ring on October 1 in Lagos.
The celebrity bout will form part of the “Chaos in the Ring” event at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, as Nigeria marks its Independence Day. The event will be streamed live on DAZN.
Carter Efe, whose real name is Oderhohwo Joseph Efe, enters the contest after defeating singer Portable by unanimous decision in May.
Speed Darlington, born Darlington Okoye, is seeking to revive his fortunes after losing to Portable in their 2025 celebrity boxing encounter.
The upcoming fight follows a challenge issued by Speed Darlington after Carter Efe defeated Portable, with the rapper calling for a bout against Efe.
The rivalry has since intensified through social media exchanges and a heated face-off ahead of the fight.
Carter Efe has vowed to defeat Speed Darlington, saying comments made by the rapper about singer Burna Boy had further motivated him.
Speed Darlington, meanwhile, maintained his characteristically provocative approach during the press conference, taking fresh shots at Burna Boy and fellow content creator Peller.
The professional headline bout will see Nigerian cruiserweight Godday “Zodsolo” Appah face Ghanaian-born British boxer Seth “Freezy Macbones” Gyimah.
Other professional contests are also scheduled for the event as Balmoral Promotions continues to build its “Chaos in the Ring” series around a combination of professional and celebrity boxing.
