Blanche d’Alpuget, Author and Widow of Ex-Australian PM Bob Hawke, Dies at 82

Australian author and biographer Blanche d’Alpuget, who was married to former Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke, has died at the age of 82.

D’Alpuget was known for her literary work, political biographies and her long association with Hawke, one of Australia’s most prominent Labor leaders and prime ministers.

She was born in Sydney in 1943 and developed a career as a writer, producing novels, essays and biographies. Her work frequently explored politics, power, relationships and Australian public life.
