Rafiu Durosinmi continues his impressive scoring run as Genk’s Nigerian striker celebrates another goal in Belgium this season.
Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi has expressed his delight after maintaining his impressive scoring streak for Genk with another goal in the Belgian Pro League.
The 23-year-old forward was on target as Genk recorded a convincing 4-0 victory over Beveren on Friday night, continuing his excellent start since joining the Belgian club.
Durosinmi opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the ninth minute, giving Genk an early advantage and setting the tone for a comfortable victory.
The goal extended his remarkable record to four goals in his opening four league appearances for the club, highlighting the immediate impact he has made since arriving in Belgium.
Speaking after the match, Durosinmi expressed satisfaction with his performance and praised his teammates for helping him settle quickly into the squad.
“I feel very good and, above all, I am very happy. This is a good start,” the Nigerian international said.
He acknowledged the quality within the Genk squad, explaining that the support and teamwork around him had made it easier to adapt and contribute on the pitch.
According to the striker, having teammates who consistently support one another has helped create an environment where players can perform with greater confidence.
Durosinmi also revealed that he has adjusted positively to life in Genk despite finding the environment different from what he was previously accustomed to.
He said the welcoming attitude of his teammates had made the transition easier and helped him feel comfortable since his arrival.
The striker joined Genk after previously playing for Pisa in Italy and Viktoria Plzen in the Czech Republic. His move to Belgium has already generated significant excitement following his strong performances.
Durosinmi had earlier scored in Genk’s opening league fixture and continued his run of goals in subsequent matches, quickly establishing himself as an important attacking option.
His latest performance will further raise expectations around his first season with the club, particularly after he previously expressed his ambition to challenge for the Belgian league’s top-scorer award.
Genk have also benefited from his scoring form, with the club now sitting fourth in the league standings after collecting seven points from their opening four matches.
Durosinmi’s consistency will be crucial as Genk continue their campaign, with the Nigerian forward hoping to maintain his scoring momentum and establish himself among Belgium’s leading strikers.
