Bayelsa CP Presents N2.48m to Families of Fallen, Injured Policemen
Bayelsa Police Command has presented N2.48m in financial assistance to families of fallen and injured police officers.
The Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, CP Tolani Alausa, has presented N2.48 million in financial assistance to the families of fallen police officers and personnel injured in the line of duty.
The gesture was made as part of efforts by the Nigeria Police Force to support officers and their families who have suffered losses or injuries while carrying out their responsibilities.
Presenting the funds, Alausa said the welfare of police personnel remained important to the command, particularly officers who had made sacrifices in the course of protecting lives and property.
He said the financial assistance was intended to provide immediate relief to the affected families and support them during a difficult period.
The commissioner also commended the fallen officers for their service and expressed sympathy to their families, noting that their contributions to maintaining security would not be forgotten.
For officers who sustained injuries while performing their duties, Alausa expressed support for their recovery and welfare, assuring them that the command would continue to stand by them.
The beneficiaries included families of police officers who lost their lives while serving as well as personnel who sustained injuries during security operations.
The presentation is part of broader welfare initiatives within the police force aimed at strengthening support for personnel and their dependants.
The command also reiterated the importance of recognising officers who make personal sacrifices in the discharge of their duties, especially those deployed to areas where they face significant security risks.
Alausa urged serving officers to remain committed to their responsibilities and continue to uphold professionalism while carrying out their duties.
He also called on members of the public to support security agencies by providing useful information and cooperating with officers to improve security across the state.
The commissioner said the command would continue to explore available avenues to support its personnel and their families.
The financial assistance comes amid ongoing efforts by the Nigeria Police Force to improve the welfare of its personnel, particularly officers involved in operations against criminal activities and other security threats.
The command said the gesture demonstrated its commitment to ensuring that the sacrifices made by police personnel and their families were recognised and appreciated.
It also reaffirmed that the welfare of officers would remain a priority as the command continues its security operations across Bayelsa State.
