Azeez Undergoes Brighton Medical Ahead Of £15m Move
Nigerian winger Femi Azeez undergoes Brighton medical as Premier League move from Millwall nears completion after deadline agreement.
Nigerian winger Femi Azeez is undergoing a medical at Brighton & Hove Albion as he moves closer to completing a £15 million transfer from Millwall.
Brighton reached an agreement with the Championship club on deadline day after several bids for the 25-year-old were rejected during the transfer window.
The deal includes an initial £12.5 million fee, with the package potentially rising above £15 million through performance-related add-ons.
Azeez has been given permission by Millwall to undergo his medical and complete the remaining formalities. The move will take the Nigeria international into the Premier League for the first time.
Azeez enjoyed an outstanding 2025/26 campaign, establishing himself as one of the Championship’s leading attacking players.
He scored 11 goals and supplied seven assists during the campaign, earning recognition in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.
His form also earned him a call-up to the Super Eagles under coach Eric Chelle. Azeez made an immediate impression during Nigeria’s Unity Cup campaign in May, scoring twice against Zimbabwe and providing an assist against Jamaica in the final.
Brighton eventually won the race for his signature after agreeing terms with Millwall.
The transfer represents a major financial return for Millwall, who signed Azeez from Reading in 2024 for around £1 million. His departure will become a record sale for the Championship club.
Azeez’s arrival will strengthen Brighton’s attacking options as the club continues to reshape its squad following an active summer transfer window.
The winger is understood to have agreed a long-term contract with Brighton, subject to the successful completion of his medical and final documentation.
For Azeez, the move represents a major step in his career after progressing through the English football system and establishing himself at Championship level.
He will now have the opportunity to test himself against Premier League opposition and compete for a place in Brighton’s squad.
The transfer also increases Nigerian representation in the Premier League, giving the Super Eagles another player competing at England’s highest domestic level.
With his medical underway, attention will now turn to completing the deal and Azeez’s official unveiling as a Brighton player.
