Atiku’s Son Launches Tinubu Re-Election Campaign Platform, Plans Two-Million-Man March
Abba Abubakar, son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election, unveiling a mobilisation organisation and plans for a nationwide campaign march.
Abba Abubakar, son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, has unveiled a political mobilisation platform in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Abba announced the establishment of the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation (HBTO) at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, describing his decision to support the President as a personal political conviction.
He acknowledged that his position could attract public attention because of his father’s political affiliation, but maintained that individuals should be free to make independent political choices.
His father, Atiku, is a leading figure in the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) and is seeking to challenge Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Abba said the organisation was established to build an inclusive, nationally coordinated grassroots network to mobilise support for the President and promote the Federal Government’s policies at community level.
He cited initiatives including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), investments in road and transport infrastructure, increased allocations to state governments through the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), and transportation support for workers as reasons for his support.
As part of its activities, HBTO announced plans to organise a two-million-man mobilisation march across the six geopolitical zones, beginning in Abuja.
Abba also disclosed that the organisation would provide 10 luxury buses under a transportation support initiative aimed at easing commuting difficulties. The programme is expected to begin in the Federal Capital Territory before expanding to other states.
He said the group would establish structures across the country, engage community leaders and youth and women organisations, and collaborate with other political groups supporting Tinubu’s re-election.
Abba further disclosed plans to work with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in efforts to mobilise support for Tinubu in the FCT and Rivers State. He also announced a major mobilisation exercise in Rivers State for the following week.
Meanwhile, the Kano State Coordinator of the movement’s professional women directorate, Maryam Shetty, announced plans to mobilise 500,000 professional women in support of Tinubu and Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf.
She said the platform would bring together women from different professional backgrounds to promote collaboration, community development and participation in governance.
The development highlights differing political positions within the Abubakar family, as Abba supports the President while his father remains aligned with the opposition ahead of the 2027 elections.
