Asiwaju Media Team Applauds Aiyedatiwa’s Leadership, Governance Style
The Asiwaju Media Team has praised Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for what it described as an open, accessible and preventive approach to governance. The group said the administration had strengthened the state’s security architecture through intelligence gathering and proactive crime prevention, while urging Nigerians to pay greater attention to crises that governments prevent before they occur.
The Asiwaju Media Team has commended Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for what it described as an open, accessible and inclusive style of governance.
The group, in a statement signed by its Director-General, Emorioloye Owolemi, said the Aiyedatiwa administration had changed the perception of government as rigid and inaccessible to ordinary citizens.
It also praised the administration for strengthening the state’s security architecture through intelligence gathering, surveillance and proactive crime-fighting measures.
According to the group, Aiyedatiwa’s approach was largely preventive, making some of the administration’s achievements less visible because they involved incidents that were stopped before they occurred.
The media team argued that governments often receive greater public recognition when responding to crises than when successfully preventing them.
It said the reduction of recurring security incidents and public disruptions in communities should therefore be considered when assessing the performance of the administration.
The group, however, acknowledged that insecurity had not disappeared completely, stressing that intelligence gathering, surveillance and preventive operations remained important tools for stopping isolated incidents from developing into wider crises.
Owolemi said the government should be assessed through its projects, functioning institutions, safer communities and accessibility to ordinary citizens rather than through publicity surrounding its achievements.
He also criticised what he described as a pattern of persistent opposition to successive administrations by some political actors in the state.
The group drew a parallel with the Federal Government’s removal of petrol subsidy, arguing that President Bola Tinubu took responsibility for a politically difficult decision with significant economic and political consequences.
The Asiwaju Media Team maintained that citizens should develop a broader understanding of governance, particularly by recognising policies and interventions that prevent crises before they become visible to the public.
It urged residents and political stakeholders to assess the Aiyedatiwa administration objectively, while acknowledging the challenges that remain in the state.
