The Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Immigration Service have intensified collaboration to strengthen border security in Yobe State.
The move is aimed at improving surveillance and preventing illegal movement of people and goods, as well as trans-border crimes and other security threats.
The two agencies said closer cooperation was necessary to secure the state’s border areas and prevent criminal elements from exploiting gaps in border surveillance.
The collaboration is also expected to improve intelligence sharing and coordination between security personnel deployed to border communities.
Officials stressed the importance of maintaining effective border control, particularly in areas vulnerable to infiltration by criminals and other hostile elements.
The agencies pledged to continue working together to safeguard national security and protect communities along the border.
They also called on residents to support security agencies by providing credible information on suspicious movements and activities in their communities.
The strengthened partnership is expected to complement ongoing security operations in Yobe and other parts of the North-East.
