APC Says It Is Preparing to Win 2027 Elections, Dismisses Atiku, Obi’s Criticism
The All Progressives Congress says it is preparing thoroughly for the 2027 general elections, with its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, accusing opposition figures Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of criticising President Bola Tinubu rather than presenting their own plans.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared its readiness for the 2027 general elections, saying it is putting its political structures and campaign machinery in place to secure victory.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr Felix Morka, stated this during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, shortly after the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja on Wednesday.
Morka said the ruling party was leaving nothing to chance in its preparations, citing its performance in bye-elections conducted since the last general elections as evidence of its organisational efforts.
He said the party was strengthening its structures, reviewing its strategy and preparing to commence extensive campaigns ahead of the polls.
Morka rejected suggestions that the APC’s preparations indicated desperation, arguing that planning ahead was a necessary part of electoral competition.
He also criticised former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, accusing them of concentrating on the shortcomings of Tinubu’s administration rather than clearly communicating their own policy proposals and plans for Nigeria.
The APC spokesman said the ruling party was more prepared for the election than its opponents, insisting that effective organisation and mobilisation would be central to its campaign.
His comments came after the inauguration of the party’s expanded Presidential Campaign Council, which is expected to coordinate its activities and mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Opposition figures have continued to criticise the Tinubu administration over economic hardship, insecurity and other national concerns, while preparing their own political strategies for the forthcoming election.
The exchange reflects growing political tensions as the ruling party and opposition groups intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections.
