APC Donates N52m to Families of Deceased Niger Miners, Survivors
The APC has donated N52 million to families of 37 miners who died in NSCDC custody in Niger State, as well as survivors of the incident.
The All Progressives Congress APC has donated N52 million to the families of 37 miners who died in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC in Niger State, as well as survivors of the incident.
Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, disclosed this on Tuesday when he received the APC National Working Committee, led by the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, on a condolence visit.
Bago expressed appreciation to the APC leadership for visiting the state and providing financial assistance to the affected families and survivors.
He said a state committee headed by the Deputy Governor, Yakubu Garba, in collaboration with the Emir of Minna, Alhaji Farouk Bahago, would ensure that the donation reached the intended beneficiaries.
Earlier, Yilwatda conveyed the party’s condolences to the Niger State Government and people over the deaths.
He described the incident as a difficult moment for the state, which had recently faced several security challenges.
“This is not a good moment for the country, especially Niger State,” Yilwatda said, assuring the state government of the party’s support.
He also prayed for strength and comfort for the affected families, saying the APC shared in their grief.
After the visit to the governor, Yilwatda led members of the party’s National Working Committee to the palace of the Emir of Minna for another condolence visit.
The Emir thanked the APC leadership for the visit and the financial support provided to the families affected by the incident.
