Angelina Jolie Sells Historic Los Feliz Mansion for $24.75m, Once Owned by Cecil B. DeMille

Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has sold her historic Los Feliz estate in Los Angeles for $24.75 million, five months after putting the property on the market for nearly $30 million.

The Oscar-winning actress's 11,000-square-foot mansion was listed in May at $29.85 million before securing a buyer, according to reports. Jolie had originally purchased the two-acre property in 2017 for $24.5 million, shortly after her separation from actor Brad Pitt.

The estate carries significant Hollywood history, having been previously owned by legendary filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille, whose family maintained the property for decades. Originally designed by architect B. Cooper Corbett in 1913, the residence was later acquired by DeMille in 1916, cementing its status as one of Hollywood's notable historic homes.

The six-bedroom, 10-bathroom property features a main mansion, a separate guest house studio, a swimming pool, a pool house, a fitness studio, a tea house, a security station, and extensive landscaped grounds. The estate also includes century-old trees and private gardens, with views overlooking the Hollywood Hills, the Hollywood Sign, and the Griffith Observatory.

Jolie moved into the estate following her filing for divorce from Pitt in 2016, after more than a decade together. The former couple share six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne.

The actress had previously revealed plans to eventually leave Los Angeles once her children reached adulthood, explaining that she had largely remained in the city because of ongoing matters connected to her divorce proceedings. The sale of the Los Feliz property comes shortly after her youngest children turned 18, a milestone she had earlier identified as the point at which she would begin making plans to potentially live abroad.

Jolie's decision to part with the historic property adds to a series of major life transitions for the actress in recent years, as she continues to navigate life following her lengthy and highly publicised separation from Pitt. With her children now grown, the sale appears to mark a concrete step toward the international relocation she had long signalled was on the horizon, even as she continues to balance her acting career, which has recently seen her return to action films, with the personal changes accompanying this new chapter of her life.
