Ajimobi Begins Official Duties as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Austria
Florence Ajimobi presented her Letters of Credence to Austria’s Chief of Protocol, formally commencing her diplomatic duties as Nigeria’s ambassador to Austria.
Nigeria’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Republic of Austria and the international organisations in Vienna, Dr Mrs Florence Ajimobi, has officially commenced her diplomatic assignment after presenting copies of her Letters of Credence, known as the Copie d’Usage, to Austria’s Chief of Protocol.
The presentation took place before Ambassador Maximilian Hennig, Chief of Protocol at the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, marking a key diplomatic milestone ahead of the formal presentation of her credentials to the Austrian President.
Mrs Ajimobi disclosed the development in a post shared on her official Facebook page on Monday.
She described the occasion as an important step in the commencement of her official engagement as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to international organisations based in Vienna.
According to her, the presentation reflects the longstanding cordial relationship between Nigeria and Austria and provides an opportunity to deepen cooperation between both countries.
“Today, I had the honour of presenting my Copie d’Usage to Ambassador Maximilian Hennig, Chief of Protocol of the Republic of Austria,” she wrote.
“This important diplomatic step marks the commencement of my official engagement as Ambassador and reflects the strong and cordial relations between our two countries.”
Ajimobi expressed optimism about strengthening bilateral ties between Nigeria and Austria through closer collaboration with the Austrian government.
She said her mission would focus on advancing shared interests and promoting cooperation across areas of mutual benefit.
The ambassador also appreciated the Austrian authorities for the reception accorded to her during the official ceremony.
“I look forward to working closely with the Austrian Government to further strengthen our bilateral cooperation and advance our shared interests,” she added.
She further extended gratitude to Ambassador Hennig and the Office of the Chief of Protocol for what she described as the warm reception and diplomatic courtesies extended to her.
The presentation of the Copie d’Usage is a recognised diplomatic procedure that precedes the formal presentation of Letters of Credence by an ambassador to a host country’s Head of State.
With the completion of this stage, Ajimobi is expected to continue engagements with Austrian authorities and representatives of international organisations in Vienna as part of her responsibility to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic, economic and multilateral relations.
Her appointment forms part of Nigeria’s efforts to reinforce its diplomatic presence and deepen international partnerships through active engagement with strategic partners across Europe.
