The family of former Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu has expressed gratitude following the successful rescue of his sister, Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, and her twin sons, Peter and Paul, from their abductors.

The family’s reaction was conveyed in a statement by Adelabu’s media aide, Comrade Femi Awogboro, after the victims regained their freedom on Saturday night.

According to the statement, one of the kidnappers reportedly fell from the roof of the building where the victims were being held during the rescue operation carried out by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.

The operation was conducted by personnel of the Force Intelligence Department–Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) at about 7:30 p.m. in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Force Public Relations Officer, DSP Anthony Placid, confirmed the rescue, describing it as the outcome of a coordinated security operation.

John-Paul and her two sons were abducted on June 3, 2026, while she was reportedly driving the children to school, an incident that sparked concern across Oyo State and beyond.

The family thanked security operatives for their professionalism and efforts in securing the safe release of the victims.
