Adamawa APC Candidate Promises Agriculture-Led Economic Growth

The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Adamawa State has promised to prioritise agriculture as a key driver of economic growth and development if elected in the 2027 governorship election.

The candidate said agriculture remained central to the state’s economy because of its large population of farmers and abundant arable land.

He pledged to support farmers with improved inputs, modern farming techniques, access to finance and better markets to increase productivity and household incomes.

The candidate also promised to promote agro-processing and value addition, saying the state should move beyond producing raw agricultural commodities to processing them locally.

He said such an approach would create employment opportunities, strengthen rural economies and reduce dependence on food imports.

The APC candidate further pledged to improve infrastructure supporting agricultural production, including roads, irrigation and storage facilities, to reduce post-harvest losses.

He said his administration would work with farmers, private investors and development partners to build a more productive and commercially viable agricultural sector.

The candidate maintained that agriculture could play a major role in reducing poverty and youth unemployment while strengthening Adamawa’s internally generated revenue.

He called on residents and farmers to support his ambition to build an economy driven by agriculture, entrepreneurship and private-sector investment.
