2027: Your Future Depends on Election, Collect Your PVCs — Tinubu Tells Youths
President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerian youths to collect their PVCs and participate in the 2027 elections, saying their future depends on the outcome.
President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerian youths to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the 2027 general elections, declaring that the outcome of the poll will have a direct impact on their future.
Tinubu made the appeal on Saturday at the Rainbow Coalition presidential campaign rally held at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Addressing young Nigerians at the rally, the President said the election was not primarily about his personal ambition but about determining the future of the younger generation.
“To the youth of Nigeria, I’m looking at you. This election is about you. It’s not about me. Your future depends on this election,” he said.
He urged eligible voters who had yet to collect their PVCs to do so, describing the voter card as an important instrument for influencing the country’s leadership and direction.
Tinubu also linked economic development to the fight against poverty, urging Nigerians to use their votes to support what he described as progressive economic development.
The President defended his administration’s economic policies, saying efforts were underway to improve the economy and extend the benefits of growth to more Nigerians.
He further claimed that his government was clearing outstanding pension and gratuity payments inherited from previous administrations, which he said amounted to billions and trillions of naira.
According to Tinubu, retired professionals, including engineers, welders and teachers, were among those receiving payments.
The rally was organised by the Rainbow Coalition, a political alliance led by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The event attracted political leaders and supporters, including Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Tinubu’s appeal comes as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 elections. His message placed renewed emphasis on voter participation, particularly among young Nigerians, encouraging them to exercise their democratic rights through the ballot.
Eligible voters are expected to follow official Independent National Electoral Commission announcements for voter registration, PVC collection and other electoral procedures.
