2027 Tinubu Will Eat Obi Like Biscuits If He Runs Alone — Okonkwo
Kenneth Okonkwo says Peter Obi cannot defeat President Bola Tinubu in 2027 without an opposition coalition, warning that Tinubu would easily defeat Obi in a one-on-one contest.
Kenneth Okonkwo, spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign, has warned that the opposition may struggle to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election without a broad coalition.
Okonkwo said the strength of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the political structure supporting Tinubu would make it difficult for any single opposition candidate to defeat the President.
He specifically said Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in 2023, would be overwhelmed if he decided to contest against Tinubu without the backing of other opposition forces.
“So, if Peter Obi goes against Tinubu alone, Tinubu will eat him like biscuits,” Okonkwo said.
He argued that the opposition needed to unite behind a single candidate if it hoped to unseat Tinubu in 2027.
According to him, the proposed coalition must bring together major opposition figures and political structures capable of challenging the APC nationwide.
Okonkwo also questioned whether Obi could secure sufficient support in northern Nigeria on his own, pointing to the importance of building a broad national coalition.
He maintained that the objective should not simply be to produce a candidate but to construct a political platform capable of defeating the incumbent across the country.
