2027: They’re Looking for Any Means to Eliminate Peter Obi, Atiku — Primate Ayodele

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has alleged that some individuals are seeking ways to eliminate the presidential ambitions of Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 election.

Ayodele made the claim in a fresh warning concerning the political contest and the growing rivalry among opposition figures seeking to challenge President Bola Tinubu.

According to the cleric, the political environment surrounding Obi and Atiku is becoming increasingly difficult, with what he described as efforts to prevent both politicians from achieving their objectives at the 2027 polls.

He urged the opposition politicians to remain vigilant and avoid actions that could make them vulnerable to political manipulation or division.

Ayodele has repeatedly warned that disunity among opposition politicians could strengthen Tinubu’s chances of retaining power. In earlier predictions, he said only a united opposition would have a realistic opportunity to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress.

The cleric had previously warned Peter Obi against political decisions that could weaken his presidential ambition, arguing that divisions within the opposition could damage the chances of candidates seeking to defeat Tinubu.

His latest comments come amid major realignments ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Atiku is seeking the presidency on the platform of the African Democratic Congress, while Obi is pursuing his presidential ambition under the Nigeria Democratic Congress.

The two opposition figures were previously associated with the broader coalition that sought to build a united platform against the ruling party. Their subsequent political paths have become a major feature of preparations for the next presidential election.

The allegation has not been independently established, and Ayodele did not identify those allegedly seeking to frustrate either politician.

President Tinubu is seeking another term in office, while Atiku and Obi remain among the major opposition personalities seeking to defeat him.

With political activities intensifying, the ability of opposition parties and candidates to maintain unity, coordinate their campaigns and protect their political interests is likely to remain central to the 2027 contest.

Ayodele’s latest warning therefore places renewed attention on the political risks surrounding the opposition as preparations for the election continue.
