2027 NDYC Urges Tinubu to Review Sheriff’s Appointment as Campaign Coordinator

The National Democratic Youth Coalition, NDYC, has called on President Bola Tinubu to review the appointment of Senator Ali Sheriff as a coordinator of his 2027 presidential campaign.

The group said the composition of the campaign structure should reflect broader consultation and inclusiveness ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The NDYC expressed concerns over Sheriff’s appointment and urged the President to reconsider the decision in the interest of the campaign and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

It said campaign appointments should be based on individuals capable of mobilising broad support and strengthening the party’s chances across different regions and demographics.

The group also called for greater involvement of youths and grassroots stakeholders in the campaign structure, arguing that their participation would be crucial to securing support ahead of the election.

The NDYC said the President’s re-election bid required a campaign team capable of communicating his administration’s achievements effectively while addressing concerns among Nigerians.

It urged the presidency and APC leadership to consider the views of stakeholders before finalising the campaign structure.

The group maintained that a more inclusive arrangement would strengthen unity within the party and improve the campaign’s ability to mobilise voters ahead of 2027.

The call comes as political parties and aspirants intensify preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
