Former Bauchi SSG Ibrahim Kashim emerged as NDC governorship candidate through consensus, pledging reforms in education, healthcare, agriculture and infrastructure while calling for support ahead of 2027 elections.
Former Bauchi State Secretary to the Government, Ibrahim Kashim, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 general elections through a consensus arrangement.
The chairman of the party’s governorship primary electoral committee, Paul Daniel, announced Kashim’s emergence in Bauchi, stating that the decision followed consultations among stakeholders and aspirants, reflecting unity within the party.
Bauchi State NDC Chairman, Abdullahi Maigari, said the party was gaining acceptance across the state and described it as one of the few political platforms free from internal disputes. He expressed confidence in Kashim’s capacity to tackle the state’s socio-economic challenges.
In his acceptance speech, Kashim thanked party leaders, delegates and supporters for their trust, pledging to prioritize education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, infrastructure development and transparent governance if elected governor.
He also urged residents and party members to rally behind the party’s vision as preparations begin for the 2027 elections.
