2027: Defence Minister Urges Nigerians To Unite, Supports Tinubu, Kaduna Gov

Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa, has reaffirmed his support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani in the 2027 elections.

Musa spoke in Kaduna during a meeting with local government coordinators of GCG Musawah 4 PBAT 2027, a political mobilisation group campaigning for the re-election of Tinubu and Sani.

The meeting brought together the leadership of the movement, coordinators from Kaduna State’s 23 local government areas and representatives of more than 300 affiliated support and interest groups.

Addressing the gathering, Musa urged members of the group to remain committed to their mobilisation efforts and work collectively towards building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.

“I will continue to work hard for Nigeria to succeed,” the minister said.

He also called on Nigerians to remain determined in their efforts to develop the country, stressing that national unity was essential to achieving progress.

“We should remain determined to build this country because together we are stronger as a nation,” he said.

Musa further emphasised the importance of religious tolerance, national unity and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.

Drawing from his childhood experience in Sokoto, the minister recalled growing up among people of different religious backgrounds and participating in Sallah celebrations with Muslim friends and neighbours.

“I grew up in Sokoto; there is no way I can object to any religion,” he said.

His comments came amid increasing political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, with political groups across the country building structures to support their preferred candidates.

The mobilisation group has established structures across Kaduna State in support of the Tinubu and Uba Sani administrations.

Its leadership said the minister’s engagement with grassroots coordinators would further strengthen its mobilisation activities ahead of the elections.

Musa’s support for Tinubu and Sani adds to his previous comments backing the ruling All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 polls.

The minister had also previously dismissed claims that the APC was losing support in northern Nigeria, insisting that the party remained positioned to win the presidential and Kaduna State governorship elections.

With political activities intensifying ahead of the 2027 elections, Musa urged Nigerians to prioritise unity and peaceful coexistence while supporting efforts aimed at strengthening the country.

His remarks come as political parties and support groups increasingly intensify grassroots mobilisation across the country ahead of the elections.
