2027: Barau Urges Aggrieved APC Aspirants to Work for Party’s Victory

Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has appealed to aspirants who may be dissatisfied with the outcome of the All Progressives Congress’ internal processes to set aside their grievances and support the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Barau made the appeal while emphasising the need for unity and cooperation among members of the ruling party as preparations for the next general election gather momentum.

He urged party members who contested for positions but were unsuccessful to remain committed to the APC and contribute to its electoral success.

According to him, internal disagreements should not be allowed to weaken the party or undermine its chances at the polls.

The deputy Senate president stressed that the APC could achieve its political objectives if its members remained united and worked towards a common goal.

He also called on successful aspirants and party leaders to reach out to their aggrieved colleagues and ensure that everyone remains part of the party’s campaign and mobilisation efforts.

The appeal comes as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 elections, with parties beginning to strengthen their structures and mobilise supporters across the country.

The APC, which controls the Federal Government and several state governments, has been positioning itself to retain power at the federal level and expand its influence in the states.

Barau said the party’s strength would depend largely on the ability of its members to manage internal disagreements and present a united front before voters.

He maintained that personal ambitions should not take precedence over the collective interest of the party.

The senator also encouraged party supporters to focus on strengthening the APC at the grassroots and ensuring effective mobilisation ahead of the elections.
