2027: Atiku Unveils Portal for Nigerians to Question Him
Atiku launches Ask AA, a digital platform inviting Nigerians to question his record, policy proposals and plans ahead of the 2027 election.
Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has launched a citizen-engagement platform called Ask AA, designed to allow Nigerians to question him directly about his public service record, political agenda and plans for the country ahead of the 2027 general election.
The initiative was announced on Thursday by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council.
According to the campaign, the platform will allow Nigerians to submit questions on key issues, including the economy, security, technology, job creation and measures to make life more affordable.
Atiku is expected to respond personally to questions submitted through the platform, with members of his media team also assisting in providing answers.
The campaign said the initiative was designed to reduce the distance between political leaders and citizens by providing a direct channel for engagement and access to information about the candidate’s positions and policy proposals.
Shaibu said the platform would help Nigerians assess Atiku’s plans and hold him accountable for his promises as the country prepares for the next presidential election.
Atiku described the initiative as an effort to promote transparency, accountability and open dialogue between political leaders and the electorate.
He said the platform was intended to make it easier for citizens to seek clarification on his proposals without relying solely on speeches, media appearances or intermediaries.
The campaign also disclosed plans to make the service accessible through a radio interface, allowing people in communities with limited internet access to participate.
The platform is scheduled to go live at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, according to the announcement.
The launch comes as political parties and presidential candidates intensify preparations for the 2027 elections, with economic hardship, insecurity, employment and access to essential services emerging as major campaign issues.
Atiku, the ADC presidential candidate, has recently outlined proposals on economic recovery, locally refined petroleum products and electoral reforms.
The effectiveness of Ask AA will depend on how accessible the platform becomes, the range of questions it accepts and the extent to which responses provide clear, verifiable details about the candidate’s proposals.
