Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, has announced that 116 students graduated with first-class degrees among 964 students set to receive undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications at its forthcoming 10th and 11th combined convocation ceremonies.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Philip Oguntunde, disclosed the figures on Friday while briefing journalists on activities lined up for the ceremony.

He said the university would award 884 bachelor's degrees and 80 postgraduate qualifications to graduands from the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions.

According to him, the undergraduate graduands comprise 358 students from the 2024/2025 session and 526 from the 2025/2026 session.

Providing a breakdown of their academic performance, Oguntunde said 116 students obtained first-class degrees, 398 graduated with second-class upper division, 299 earned second-class lower division, while 69 received third-class degrees. Two students graduated with pass degrees.

He attributed the results to the commitment of students, dedication of academic staff and the institution's emphasis on academic standards, discipline and quality assurance.

The vice-chancellor said the university had focused on producing graduates with intellectual ability, professional competence, entrepreneurial initiative and ethical responsibility.

He also disclosed that the institution secured full accreditation in all six programmes assessed by the National Universities Commission during its October/November 2025 accreditation exercise.

The accredited programmes are Law, Accounting and Finance, Microbiology, Business Administration, Human Resource Management and Computer Science.

Oguntade said the accreditation outcome reflected the university's commitment to maintaining standards in teaching, learning, curriculum delivery, staffing, infrastructure and student support services.

The combined convocation ceremonies will feature the award of first degrees and postgraduate qualifications, alongside other activities celebrating the institution's academic achievements.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, is scheduled to deliver the convocation lecture on Thursday, November 12, while the main graduation ceremony will hold on Friday, November 13.
