An aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has alleged that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Chief Bode George built his Abuja residence with funds belonging to Rivers State, intensifying the ongoing exchange between both political camps.

The aide made the allegation while responding to Bode George's criticism of Wike, insisting that the former PDP Deputy National Chairman has questions to answer regarding the ownership and funding of his property in the Federal Capital Territory. The aide maintained that public officials should be transparent about the source of their wealth.

According to the statement, the Abuja property was allegedly financed with public funds linked to Rivers State during Bode George's influence within the party. The aide challenged the PDP chieftain to publicly explain how the residence was acquired, arguing that accountability should apply to all political leaders irrespective of status or affiliation.

The allegation comes days after Wike publicly challenged Bode George to explain the ownership of the Abuja house, dismissing accusations levelled against him and insisting that his own assets were legitimately acquired. The exchange has further deepened the war of words between the two senior PDP figures.

Neither Bode George nor his representatives had issued an official response to the latest allegation at the time of filing this report. The dispute continues to generate reactions within political circles as both camps trade accusations over issues of accountability, governance, public conduct.
