Minister of Works, David Umahi, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will complete the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, describing the project as one of the administration's most ambitious infrastructure initiatives aimed at transforming transportation, economic development across Nigeria.

Umahi said construction is progressing steadily across various sections of the highway, assuring Nigerians that the Federal Government remains committed to delivering the project despite its scale and complexity. He noted that the road would improve connectivity, reduce travel time and stimulate commercial activities along the coastal corridor.

The minister stated that the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway forms part of the Tinubu administration's broader infrastructure renewal agenda, designed to enhance regional integration, create jobs and attract investment. He added that the project would also boost tourism, trade and economic opportunities for communities along the route.

Umahi dismissed concerns over the project's execution, insisting that adequate measures have been put in place to ensure quality construction and timely delivery. He urged Nigerians to support the initiative, maintaining that its long-term benefits would outweigh current challenges associated with its implementation.

He reaffirmed the Federal Government's determination to complete all ongoing legacy road projects under the Renewed Hope Agenda, saying the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway would stand as a lasting testament to the administration's commitment to modern infrastructure and national development.
