Temitope Osoba’s Fiancé Reveals New Details About Actress’ Death

The fiancé of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, has given a different account of the circumstances surrounding her death, disputing reports that she died from complications linked to breast cancer.

Onadeko alleged that Osoba died at a police station in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State after she went to visit a woman identified as Mrs Kehinde Osoba. He made the claim during an interview with the Celestial Reality Check, a media investigative unit of the Celestial Church of Christ.

According to the cleric, he was informed of the actress’ death by an unidentified caller around midnight. He said the caller told him that Osoba had died inside a police station in Ikorodu.

“It was a random person that called me around 12 am that she died in a police station in Ikorodu,” Onadeko said.He added that he could not identify the particular police station where the actress allegedly died. After receiving the call, he said, he reported himself at a nearby police station because of the information he had received.

The account has raised fresh questions about the actress’ final hours, coming days after her death was announced by fellow actor Alesh Sanni. Osoba died at the age of 40, with colleagues and fans mourning her as a talented actress, writer and producer.

Before her death, Osoba had publicly spoken about her battle with breast cancer. She underwent surgery and had sought financial support for further treatment, leading to widespread reports that her death was connected to complications from the illness.

Onadeko acknowledged that Osoba had battled cancer and undergone treatment and surgery, but insisted that the disease was not responsible for her death. He did not provide medical records or other independent evidence to support his claim.

The cleric also denied allegations that he had access to money donated by members of the public for Osoba’s cancer treatment. He said the funds were paid into the actress’ personal account and that he had no control over them.

“It wasn’t my account they sent the money to, it was hers. And I didn’t use the money to build church as rumoured. I never had access to her money,” he said.

Onadeko further rejected claims that he prevented Osoba from driving her car or restricted her movement during the final period of her life. He said she drove herself to Iperu shortly before her death.

He also denied allegations that the actress had been poisoned or physically maltreated. Reports and social media discussions had circulated claims about the circumstances of her final days, but the cleric described those accounts as untrue.

Onadeko disclosed that Osoba had left the church approximately three weeks before her death. He also said the actress had struggled with smoking and that he had encouraged her to stop the habit.

The latest claims have added to public uncertainty surrounding the actress’ death. At the time of reporting, neither the police nor medical authorities had independently confirmed that Osoba died at a police station. The exact cause and circumstances of her death therefore remain unestablished.

Osoba’s family has also urged the public to disregard unauthorised accounts and allow relatives to mourn privately. In a statement shared through the actress’ official social media page, the family described several claims circulating online as false, speculative and unauthorised.

The family’s position reflects the sensitivity of the situation. Public speculation about the death of a person who had previously battled cancer can cause additional pain for relatives and may spread information that has not been verified. The conflicting accounts have therefore increased calls for caution until official findings become available.

Osoba’s burial has been scheduled for Thursday, August 13, 2026, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State. Friends, colleagues and fans are expected to gather to pay their final respects to the actress, whose career included work in the Nigerian film industry and public advocacy around her health struggles.

For now, the most significant details about Osoba’s final moments come from her fiancé’s account, and those claims remain unverified. Until the police, family or medical authorities provide an authoritative explanation, reports about where and how she died should be treated as allegations rather than established facts.
