Shettima Begins Two-Week Vacation


Vice President Kashim Shettima has commenced a two-week vacation after formally notifying President Bola Tinubu in line with constitutional requirements, the Presidency has confirmed. The leave is part of his annual vacation and will see him temporarily step away from official duties.

A statement issued by the Office of the Vice President said Shettima would be away for 14 days and is expected to resume official engagements after the vacation. The Presidency assured Nigerians that government activities would continue uninterrupted during his absence.

According to the statement, President Tinubu approved the leave following the Vice President's request. It added that all necessary constitutional and administrative procedures relating to the vacation had been observed before the commencement of the leave.

Shettima's vacation comes amid ongoing government activities, with the Presidency maintaining that the administration remains focused on implementing its policies and programmes across key sectors of the economy. Officials also stressed that governance would continue seamlessly throughout the period.

The Vice President is expected to return to his official responsibilities after the two-week break and continue supporting the administration's programmes aimed at promoting economic growth, security and national development.
