Rudeboy Reacts to Mr P's Claims That Late Mother Mistreated His Wife Lola Amid P-Square Feud

Singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has reacted after his twin brother, Peter Okoye, better known as Mr P, alleged that their late mother, Josephine Okoye, mistreated his wife, Lola Omotayo-Okoye, in the latest instalment of his ongoing tell-all video series chronicling the long-running P-Square family feud.

Rudeboy responded in a post shared on his social media pages on Friday, appearing to defend their late mother without directly addressing the specific allegations raised by his brother. His message, brief and pointed, was widely interpreted by fans as a defence of their mother on the basis that she could no longer speak for herself. The post came barely 24 hours after Mr P released the eighth episode of his video series, in which he revisited several family incidents he claims contributed to the collapse of his relationship with his brothers and, eventually, the breakup of the iconic music group P-Square.

According to Mr P's account, the confrontation at the centre of the latest episode occurred shortly after his wife, Lola, gave birth to their first son, while the couple were living at their residence in the Omole area of Lagos. He alleged that their late mother visited the house and, unusually, asked to see Lola before asking about the newborn baby. He said he was compelled to lie to Lola, telling her not to bring the baby along on the basis that the house had been fumigated, a request he described as unusual at the time.

Mr P further alleged that upon Lola's arrival, she was invited into the master bedroom, where their late mother, brothers Jude, Paul and Tony, and several pastors were already gathered. He claimed neither he nor his wife was properly welcomed or offered seats, and that they were left to sit on the floor as the discussion began. According to Mr P, his mother told Lola that the family had decided she should leave their son alone, a statement he said left both him and his wife shocked, with Lola reportedly suspecting at first that he had secretly arranged the meeting following a minor disagreement they had recently had.

The singer went on to allege that the meeting grew more hostile after their brother Jude intervened and demanded that Lola leave him alone, further claiming that Jude picked up a photograph of his infant son and made a derogatory remark in Igbo, which Lola interpreted as a slur against the child's legitimacy. Mr P said the confrontation caused his wife to break down in tears before the pastors present attempted to calm the situation, and that she was eventually escorted out of the house. He additionally claimed that prior to the child's birth, Jude and Rudeboy had opposed Lola's pregnancy and had circulated an anonymous email questioning his paternity of the unborn child, allegations he said deeply affected both him and his wife at the time.

Despite the painful nature of the episode, Mr P said their late mother later acknowledged that the child was indeed his biological son and instructed Paul and Jude to apologise, though he claimed that apology never came before her death. He also pushed back against suggestions that Lola disliked his late mother, insisting instead that she cared for her devotedly during a prolonged illness, staying with her in hospital late into the night and assisting visiting pastors, and argued that the broader narrative portraying his wife as disrespectful toward the family was inaccurate.

Unlike his brother, Rudeboy did not engage with any of the specific accusations raised in the episode, keeping his response brief and largely symbolic. His management has previously stated that the singer remains focused on his music career and has no intention of engaging in a public war of words over the family's internal disagreements, a position he has maintained throughout much of the prolonged dispute.

The latest exchange adds another chapter to the long-running conflict involving the Okoye brothers, which has repeatedly dominated Nigerian entertainment headlines in recent years. In earlier episodes of his tell-all series, Mr P had accused their elder brother, Jude, of financial misconduct, threatening his life, and attempting to dispossess him of jointly owned property in Atlanta, United States. Jude has consistently denied the more serious allegations levelled against him, maintaining that several of the disputed issues are already before the courts and should not be litigated in the media.

With Mr P promising further revelations in subsequent episodes of his series, the long-running P-Square family feud continues to play out publicly, drawing widespread reactions from fans and entertainment industry observers who have followed the group's fractured relationship since its high-profile split.
