Police Arrest Two Suspected Drug Dealers, Recover 132 Tramadol Sachets
Delta Police have arrested two 54-year-old men during a stop-and-search operation in Asaba and recovered 132 sachets of 100mg tramadol from their vehicle.
The Delta State Police Command has arrested two suspected drug dealers and recovered 132 sachets of 100mg tramadol during a stop-and-search operation in Asaba.
The suspects, identified as 54-year-old Hillary Osondu and 54-year-old Abubakar Bello, were arrested on Thursday, August 13, by police personnel attached to Operation Delta Shield.
According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, the officers were conducting a stop-and-search operation along Nnebisi Road, Asaba, when they intercepted a Toyota Hiace bus.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of the 132 sachets of tramadol, prompting the arrest of the two men.
The police said the suspects were taken into custody for investigation, while efforts were ongoing to establish the source and intended destination of the drugs.
The command reiterated its commitment to tackling the trafficking and illegal distribution of controlled substances across Delta State.
