OsunDecides2026: We Are Studying Election Results, Says APC
The Osun APC says it is reviewing results from all 332 wards and will consult its lawyers before deciding whether to challenge Adeleke’s victory, urging its supporters to remain calm.
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says it is studying the results of Saturday’s governorship election across the state before deciding on its next course of action.
The party said its leadership was reviewing the results from all 332 wards in Osun following the declaration of Accord candidate Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the election.
In a statement by the APC Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, the party said the electoral process did not end with the declaration of a winner, noting that the law provides avenues for parties to challenge election outcomes through the Election Petition Tribunal, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
The APC said it would consult with its team of lawyers before deciding whether to pursue legal action, stressing that it would explore available legal opportunities if its review establishes grounds to do so.
The party also commended its members and supporters for their commitment throughout the election and urged them to remain calm and avoid provocative actions while the leadership assesses the situation.
The development follows INEC’s declaration of Adeleke as winner with 511,067 votes, ahead of APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes. Adeleke won 19 of the state’s 30 LGAs, while Oyebamiji won 11.
The APC maintained that any further action would be pursued within the ambit of the law.
