OsunDecides2026: Voters Allege Inducement as Suspected APC Supporters Flee With Cash
Voters in Ejigbo have alleged that suspected APC supporters distributed cash at two polling units during the Osun governorship election, with some accused persons reportedly fleeing with money in polythene bags. The allegations had not been independently verified.
Voters at polling units in Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State have alleged that suspected supporters of the All Progressives Congress were distributing cash during Saturday’s governorship election.
The incident was captured in a video recorded at Ward 4, Unit 7, where voters were seen confronting individuals accused of sharing money at the polling location. A similar allegation was reported at Ward 4, Unit 13.
According to one of the voters, the incident occurred at about 9:30am, while the second incident reportedly happened around 10:30am. The voter alleged that those accused of distributing the money fled with some of the cash in a polythene bag.
Some voters also displayed cash they claimed to have recovered, alongside a card they identified as belonging to the APC.
The polling units are linked to Najeem Salaam, popularly known as Iwaloye, the African Democratic Congress governorship candidate. Voters alleged that the people distributing the cash were linked to the APC.
However, the allegations could not be independently verified, and there was no immediate response from the APC at the time of PUNCH's report.
