OsunDecides2026: Over 100 ‘Imported’ Voters Arrested With New PVCs

More than 100 alleged “imported” voters have reportedly been arrested in Osun State during Saturday’s governorship election, with the suspects found in possession of newly issued Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), according to DailyPost.

The report said the individuals were allegedly brought into the state ahead of the election and were arrested by security operatives during the voting exercise.

The development has raised concerns over possible attempts to influence the outcome of the election through the movement of voters from outside their usual areas of registration.

According to the report, the alleged voters were linked to an Accord Party member, although the circumstances surrounding their arrest and the specific allegations against the individuals are still subject to investigation.

The arrests come amid heightened security arrangements across Osun State, where authorities have imposed movement restrictions and deployed security personnel to prevent electoral malpractice, intimidation and violence.

The alleged incident is likely to attract further scrutiny from election observers and security agencies as voting and result collation continue.
