Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo has congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, describing the victory as historic.

Keyamo, in two posts on X on Sunday, also acknowledged Adeleke’s public endorsement of President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in 2027, stressing that political agreements should be honoured.

The minister said Adeleke’s endorsement demonstrated his commitment to keeping his word, adding: “Agreement is agreement.”

Keyamo wrote: “Huge congratulations to Governor Ademola Adeleke on his historic victory in the governorship election in Osun State.”

He also thanked Adeleke for his “public and unequivocal endorsement” of Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election, describing the governor as “a man of integrity and honour.”

The congratulatory message followed Adeleke’s victory in Saturday’s election. INEC declared the Accord candidate winner after the collation of results from the state’s 30 local government areas.

Adeleke polled 511,067 votes, defeating APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes. The ADC candidate, Najeem Salaam, came third with 17,180 votes.

Adeleke had earlier reaffirmed his support for Tinubu’s 2027 presidential ambition, despite contesting the Osun election on the Accord platform.
